(FixThisNation.com) – An Emerson College poll published on Friday found that voters under 30 consider the economy to be the biggest issue that the United States is facing ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
Specifically, the poll found that 44 percent of respondents who are 30 years old or younger argued that the economy was the key issue being faced by the country right now. However, in comparison only 14 percent of young voters polled argued that healthcare was the most important issue. Ten percent argued that the most important issue faced by the country right now is education.
According to the poll, other issues listed which included housing affordability and crime received 8 percent.
In terms of the economy, 76 percent of respondents argued that their parent’s generation had more opportunities when considering the change in the economy, while 24 percent argued that their parents had fewer economic opportunities.
The new poll also included findings over the approval rating of President Biden with younger voters ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Around 41 percent of poll respondents argued that they approved of Biden’s performance in office, while around 51 percent argued that they disapproved.
The approval rating for Biden for those between the ages of 18 and 24 is currently at 35 percent, while those in the slightly older demographic of 25 to 29 years old gave Biden 41 percent of approval.
The poll was conducted between December 4 and December 6 and included 1,000 participants. The margin of error was calculated at three percent.
