(FixThisNation.com) – Chris Christie, who recently launched his presidential campaign, made critical remarks about Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner during his campaign launch event on Tuesday. The former governor of New Jersey expressed his astonishment at what he referred to as the family’s unethical behavior. Specifically, Christie highlighted the fact that after leaving the White House, Ivanka Trump and Kushner received a substantial $2 billion investment from the Saudi Arabian government. This investment was directed towards Kushner’s investment firm, A Fin Management, LLC (Affinity), in 2021.
The House Committee on Oversight and Reform initiated an investigation last year to examine whether Kushner had exploited his government position to secure this investment improperly. During Donald Trump’s presidency, Kushner served as an advisor primarily focused on Middle East policy. However, in 2021, six months after incorporating Affinity, he received the substantial $2 billion investment.
Christie raised questions during the town hall about the reasons behind Kushner receiving such a significant investment. He pondered whether it was due to Kushner’s exceptional investing abilities or if it was a result of his four-year tenure as a government official, where he may have used his influence to gain favor with the Saudis.
It is worth noting that Christie has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump in recent years. During the town hall, he openly characterized Trump as self-centered and referred to him as a “mirror hog.” Furthermore, Christie drew a comparison between the former president and the fictional Harry Potter character Voldemort, known for his villainous nature.
