(FixThisNation.com) – On Sunday, Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., responded to the criticisms of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) recently referred to him as a bully.
In response to these criticisms, Fetterman told CNN’s Jake Tapper that this assertion was “absurd.” He added that he had only been responding to the chaos that had erupted. He continued by pointing out that people were entitled to their own opinions if they were proud of what they had produced or if they felt this was the type of thing they were planning on sending to a classroom of 8th-grade civics students in the country. As he pointed out this would be their choice.
Fetterman argued regarding the incident between Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Thursday that the situation in the House of Representatives was far worse than “The Jerry Springer Show.” Ocasio-Cortez did not hesitate to respond to this comment, taking to social media to argue that she would stand up against bullies rather than become one. She continued by stating that she understood that most likely he would not have stood up against these things and that he appeared to be confused about misogyny and racism being considered “both sides” issues.
On Thursday the House Oversight Committee had convened to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress after he refused to hand over the audio recordings from the interview between President Biden and a special counsel.
