(FixThisNation.com) – On Tuesday, former White House press secretary Jen Psaki stated that one of the biggest obstacles for the Biden campaign right now was navigating the legal cases against former President Donald Trump.
Psaki pointed out that this is a unique challenge for the 2024 reelection campaign, as Trump who is the presumptive GOP nominee in the race is in a courtroom facing criminal indictment. The New York trial relating to the hush money payments made by Trump is the first of four indictments that have resulted in him facing 88 criminal charges.
Psaki pointed out that while the case in New York is unprecedented, it is also an important news story which is creating a problem for Biden as the legal cases are blocking “out the sun.”
The MSNBC host noted that because of the legal cases, there was not a lot of room for reports on other issues and that this was unconventional for a time when the candidates were debating Social Security proposals and different issues.
Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) had argued earlier this month that he did not believe that the Biden campaign was managing to break the “MAGA wall” in order to communicate to U.S. voters all of the achievements of the Biden administration. Psaki, who was the White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022 pointed out that it is not about a “checklist of accomplishments” or having a full understanding of everything that the infrastructure bill was accomplishing. Instead, as she pointed out, the important thing was for Biden to show why he was a better choice than Trump.
