(FixThisNation.com) – On Wednesday President Biden stated that the House GOP was most likely already planning on impeaching him and that they were likely wanting to force the government to shut down. This is the first statement that Biden has made since Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) instructed the House committees to begin the process of starting a formal impeachment inquiry against the President
During a campaign reception in McLean, Va. Biden argued that he does not know why but he knew that the Republicans wanted to impeach him. He added that from what he could tell they most likely wanted to move forward with the impeachment in order to force a government shutdown. As he pointed out there were always people calling for impeachment which is why he does not wake up everyday thinking about impeachment, instead he focuses on addressing the key issues that the American people are facing.
During the event, Biden also referenced the attempts by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) to have him impeached since the first day of his administration.
The impeachment could become a problem especially as the White House and Congress are currently in the middle of debating about funding ahead of the Sept. 30 deadline. However, Greene threatened that without moving forward with an impeachment inquiry they would fund the government.
The White House pointed out on Wednesday that the Republicans have not yet found any evidence that shows that Biden has done something wrong. As press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre pointed out the investigation by the House GOP has been going on for almost a year and even some Republicans have admitted that there is no evidence.
