( – On Monday, President Biden stated that former President Donald Trump’s “anti-democratic” rhetoric was a factor in his decision to pursue a second term in the White House.

During an interview on the radio show “Keepin’ It Real” with Rev. Al Sharpton, Biden was asked about the reasons that had made him decide to run for reelection. Specifically, Sharpton asked him when he really thought about it, what was it that made him think he could not leave office right now and that he needed to spend one more term in office.

In response, Biden stated that it had been Trump’s rhetoric that had made him think that. Biden’s appearance on Sharpton’s show was as part of the celebration honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

Biden stated about Trump that he was “the most anti-democratic” U.S. president and that he meant the things he was saying, including that he was running for the White House as a way of getting revenge on people. Biden argued that Trump’s remarks were outrageous.

Biden is seeking reelection in 2024 and is most likely going to be the Democratic nominee. As Trump is the frontrunner in the Republican primary race it is likely that the 2024 race could turn out to be a rematch of the 2020 presidential race between the two men.

Still, Biden has faced a lot of criticism over seeking reelection at his age, as he would be 86 by the end of his second Term. Trump is only a few years younger than Biden, as he is currently 77.
