(FixThisNation.com) – On Wednesday, staffers from the federal administration held a vigil outside the White House calling for a cease-fire in the Middle East.
One NBC senior White House correspondent took to X, formerly known as Twitter to note that the group was outside the White House on Wednesday calling for a ceasefire. The post also included a photo of the gathering group which had a banner that read “PRESIDENT BIDEN, YOUR STAFF DEMANDS A CEASEFIRE.” There were also a number of candles set up in front of the group which were placed in a way that spelled out the word “CEASEFIRE.”
CNN in their report stated that there were dozens of people involved in the vigil. Josh Paul, a former State Department official who had resigned in mid-October because he disagreed with the Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war, delivered some opening remarks at the vigil.
Reportedly he stated that the American people have always been respectful of the United Nations, and other institutions that have been calling for a ceasefire. However, the Biden administration appears to be ignoring these calls. He added that they were demanding that President Biden and his Cabinet members speak up and push for a permanent ceasefire. He further pushed for all the hostages to be released and for the situation in the region to be de-escalated.
Another former administration staffer read out a statement that had been written by officials in Palestine. As he noted, the United States’ decision to fuel the violence has jeopardized the entire globe, including their objectives.
