(FixThisNation.com) – The Biden campaign has been using a case out of Texas, where the state had blocked a woman with a nonviable pregnancy from getting the procedure to end her pregnancy, as part of their campaign attacks against former President Donald Trump, who is the frontrunner in the GOP primary race.
The Democrats have for months placed abortion at the forefront of the election races, especially following the successes that this issue has brought them following the Supreme Court’s decision last year to overturn the case that established the constitutional right to abortion.
Campaign officials have viewed the campaign that has emerged in the case as one of the key points that they need to highlight ahead of the presidential election as they want to highlight that a possible second Trump administration would threaten women’s rights.
In a statement, President Biden noted that no woman should be required to flee her own state in order to seek necessary health care. However, this is exactly what has occurred in Texas because of the decisions made by GOP elected officials. He added that this case was outrageous and such a thing should not have been allowed to occur in the United States.
Following the decision of the Supreme Court last year to overturn Roe v. Wade, abortions have become one of the main problems that the GOP has had to face across the country, as Republican candidates and officials have not established a unified message on what their approach to abortions is.
The Biden campaign however has pointed out that Roe v. Wade was overturned following the appointment of three Supreme Court Justices by Trump. These justices were instrumental in establishing a conservative majority in the Supreme Court.
