(FixThisNation.com) – Gal Luft, 57, is a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen who is now facing years in prison after being charged with working as an unregistered agent of China brokering a deal for Iranian oil that violates the sanctions currently set on the country. In the indictment filed by federal prosecutors in Manhattan, it is also noted that Luft had also been involved in the recruitment and payment of former high-ranking U.S. government officials in 2016 without being registered as a foreign agent.
The official is not identified in the indictment, but prosecutors have claimed that he was an adviser to former President Donald Trump. Luft has been pushing for policies that would be beneficial to China to be passed by drafting comments using the adviser’s name which were later published in a Chinese newspaper.
Luft was first arrested in Cyprus in February for these charges, but after being released on bail he fled the country. Prosecutors have pointed out that right now he is not in U.S. custody.
The New York Post recently released a 14-minute video of Lyft who claimed that he was arrested in Cyprus in an attempt to be stopped from testifying before the House Oversight Committee in the case related to the Biden family allegedly having been part of a bribery scheme which included a source that is closely connected to the Chinese military.
Luft also claims that this is information he had given the FBI and the Department of Justice in March 2019 during a meeting that had taken place in Brussels.
