(FixThisNation.com) – On Monday, House Oversight Committee top Democrat, Rep. Jamie Raskin, released a 14-page memo in which he dismissed the claims that the investigation into the Biden family was a “complete and total bust.”
The memo was released only a day before the Representatives were set to return to Capitol Hill following the August recess. Many Republican leaders have stated that following their return to Congress, they were going to consider whether or not they should open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden in connection to his involvement in his son, Hunter Biden’s, foreign business activities.
Raskin pointed out in his memo that rather than focusing on legislation that was going to help the country progress and help keep the government running, they are focusing on “weaponizing” and “exploiting congressional power” in order to push their conspiracy theories about the President forward.
In the memo, he also accused the committee’s Chairman James Comer of attempting to claim that there was a “false moral equivalency” between Biden’s and former President Donald Trump’s case. He claimed this was an attempt to help support the campaign of the former President who is facing four indictments and a total of 91 federal and state criminal charges including charges for falsifying business records, conspiring to subvert the Constitution, unlawfully retaining classified documents, and obstructing the FBI’s investigations.
He added that the House GOP was placing all of its attention on investigating the President instead of his adult son, and this just shows that this case is an “epic flop in the history of congressional investigations.”
