(FixThisNation.com) – During a recent interview with Melissa Murray, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) accused Justice Clarence Thomas of being “corrupt” following the Supreme Court’s decision to end the bump stock ban that had been introduced during the Trump administration. Thomas has over the past year received a lot of criticism for receiving gifts without including them in his filings from GOP super donors.
Crockett argues that people were being too nice about it before and that in reality, it was impossible for someone to receive the amount of money that Thomas had without it having any sort of influence on them. She added that November 5 would be a day of reckoning.
Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) put out information this week about the undisclosed trips that Thomas had received from billionaire Harlan Crow which amount to close to $4.2 million. These gifts are far larger in value than the gifts received by any other judge.
Thomas and his attorney Elliot S. Berke have pushed back against this information arguing that the trips that Crow had covered did not need to be disclosed as they fell under the “personal hospitality exemption.
Fix the Court compiled data dating back to 2004 which showed that Thomas has in total accepted 193 gifts that are valued at around $4 million. The group also reported that out of the close to 200 gifts that Thomas had allegedly accepted he had only reported 27.
The Democrats have over the past few weeks criticized not only Thomas but also Justice Samuel Alito, following the recent reports that he had flags flown outside his homes that are connected to the Jan. 6, Capitol riot.
