(FixThisNation.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis blasted the “floundering” federal government during the speech he gave after his inauguration. On Tuesday DeSantis was sworn in office for a second time after his decisive victory against Democratic challenger Charlie Crist. To mark the occasion he gave a 16-minute speech in which he reiterated his stance against “woke ideology” and even criticized the Biden administration and federal government for trying to hinder Florida’s success.

DeSantis said that “the federal government has gone on an inflationary spending binge” leaving “our nation weaker and our citizens poorer.” He then proceeded to note that the pandemic restrictions enacted were based on ideologies instead of science and that these actions harmed both commerce and people’s freedom.

He further attacked the government for allowing the borders to be opened and “making a mockery of the rule of law” as large amounts of narcotics have entered the country, along with many illegal aliens who have strained the resources available in the community.

DeSantis also continued by criticizing the government’s energy policy which as he said is the reason for the increased prices and the weakening of national security.

Many have viewed DeSantis’ speech as further evidence that he is preparing to launch a presidential campaign in 2024. However, so far DeSantis has not made any such announcements despite many in the GOP wanting to see him launch a campaign. The calls for DeSantis to enter the presidential race further increased following the recent midterm elections where most Trump-backed candidates failed to win their races, while Florida Republicans saw significant success.
