(FixThisNation.com) – On Sunday, Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis suggested that he wanted the House GOP to focus their attention on topics that were important to the American public instead of on an impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

During an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” with Kristen Welker, Florida Governor DeSantis stated that he believed the Biden family to be “corrupt” and argued that the House had been justified to open an impeachment inquiry. However, he argued that the inquiry would most likely end up going nowhere.

He proceeded to point out that while House Republicans were focusing their attention on that they have been ignoring the economy, border security, and the federal agencies “overstepping.” He added that he believes they are at risk of moving forward with an inquiry that would not go anywhere while at the same time not paying attention to any of the issues that voters found concerning.

The Biden family is being investigated by three Republican-led House Committees. Based on their finding, former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) opened an impeachment inquiry, which is now being supported by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). The House GOP is intending to hold a vote to formalize the Biden impeachment inquiry in the next two weeks.

However, even if they are successful with opening the inquiry, it is unlikely that this move will have support in the Senate which is controlled by the Democrats. Some Senate Republicans have also opposed the efforts. This is why DeSantis has argued that all other issues will need to be addressed if they are to move forward with the inquiry.
