(FixThisNation.com) – Republican primary presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has argued that the attacks by the Democratic Party against former President Donald Trump were only going to intensify. Trump is already facing a number of indictments and different legal cases looking to have him disqualified from the presidential race.
DeSantis in an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” argued that the Democrats were currently going easy on DeSantis. As he pointed out they were not saying a lot about him right now, but if he was to become the party’s nominee then they would go “scorched earth” on him.
He added that the Democrats would be bringing up things from his past, and the presidential election would essentially be turned into a referendum between Trump and President Joe Biden. DeSantis further argued that in the end, Trump would once be able to get away with everything.
DeSantis also argued that he was at the “prime” age to be a presidential candidate, when asked whether he would pick 77-year-old Trump or 80-year-old Biden. As he stated the presidency is not a job that should be held by someone who is pushing 80. He added that this was clear in the case of Biden, that “Father Time is undefeated.” He then pointed out that Trump was also not exempt from this, and that it would be better to have someone like him, who is in a prime age as President as he could serve two terms and ensure results for the country.
