(FixThisNation.com) – In the past few weeks, more than 100 migrants were placed at the arrivals of Boston’s Logan International Airport which is now being used as a shelter.

A police source has confirmed that the pictures of the people on the floor of the airport in makeshift beds and air mattresses are real and that the facility has been used as a shelter. He pointed out that in the past few weeks, there has been an increase in the number of migrants who have been housed at the International airport, rising from the few dozen that were housed there a few months ago.

A MassPort representative stated that they were continuing to see migrants at the Logan airport who were arriving there through different means and at different times.

The issue is further expanded by the lack of resources and staff in the facilities surrounding the airport. A representative has argued that this was causing migrants to be bussed to welcome centers during the day only to be brought back to the airport by nightfall.
Those migrants who are housed at the airport have been subjected to poor living conditions as they are sleeping on cold and hard floors. They are also facing lights that are constantly on and are always having to deal with airport announcements that wake them up.

In November after state shelters reached their maximum capacity of 7,500 families, migrants were forced to remain at the airport. Massachusetts does not have sanctuary jurisdiction as a state but many of its local cities do have some sanctuary laws in place.
