(FixThisNation.com) – On Friday, Vice President Harris visited South Carolina where she filed the paperwork to have both President Biden and herself included in the 2024 primary state ballot. This is an indication of the importance of the now-first state on the Democratic primary calendar in helping ensure that Biden is going to remain in the White House for a second term.
Harris stated in front of an audience in Columbia, that this was an important moment in history, with South Carolina becoming the “first in the nation.” She added that this was particularly contextually important as in 2020 it was this state that had allowed her and Biden to win the White House.
Harris proceeded to say that she wanted to thank those in the state and that she was here to say that they would do this all over again in 2024 in an election that had extremely high stakes. She also took the time to tout the accomplishments of the Biden-Harris administration, including their investments in infrastructure and broadband, the funds provided to historically Black colleges and universities, the legislation that helped lower the costs for drug prescriptions, and the funding provided for the replacement of lead pipes.
She also pointed out that the Tuesday wins in Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia showed that the Biden campaign was heading towards the 2024 presidential election with momentum, despite the polls showing that the campaign still had many things to do in order to win.
Harris pointed out that this was a fight that they would participate in out of their deep love for the United States and the understanding of everything that was at stake.
