(FixThisNation.com) – On Tuesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the New York City hush money trial is “related” to the November election.

This week several Republican Congress members, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., traveled to New York City to stand in support of former President Donald Trump during his trial, where he is facing 34 felony counts related to a hush money payment made on his behalf to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

During the press conference, Jean-Pierre was asked whether she believed it was appropriate for the House Speaker to be attending the trial. In response, Jean-Pierre stated that she did not want to make a comment on this as it was clearly “related” to the upcoming election.

White House officials need to abide by the Hatch Act which stops them from interfering in elections or making any comments that could potentially influence the election. She did however comment that she cannot speak on what the schedule of the Speaker is and that this is something that he has to decide on his own.

Jean-Pierre also commented regarding the trial that it is also connected to an independent judicial process and therefore she was going to be very mindful of what she said. She further pointed out that Johnson gets to make his own choices and what choices he makes are his business.

The Republicans who appeared in Trump’s courtroom all expressed their opposition to the trails and their support for the former President.
