(FixThisNation.com) – President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden has entered a plea deal on two federal misdemeanor charges which has caused a lot of criticisms from many of former President Donald Trump’s allies.
Hunter Biden, 53, has been at the center of a lot of controversy concerning both his personal struggles and his international business dealings, which many have alleged have been directly affected by his father’s political position. In late 2020, Hunter Biden was confirmed to be facing a federal criminal probe looking into his tax history.
After more than two years of investigations, the U.S. Attorney for Delaware filed a case against Hunter Biden. Since then Biden has agreed to enter a plea deal that would require him to plead guilty to two federal misdemeanor counts which are the result of his failure to pay his income taxes for two consecutive years.
He is also going to be facing a separate charge for unlawful firearm possession; however, an NBC News report has found that based on the court documents this case might end up being dismissed if it meets certain conditions.
While Biden has pleaded guilty, many Republicans and MAGA lawmakers have expressed frustration at the plea deal that Hunter Biden received, pointing out the differences between his case and former President Donald Trump’s recent indictment in connection to his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House. As many Republicans pointed out this was a “sweetheart deal,” with many pointing out that the consequences for Biden ended up being little more than “a traffic ticket.”
Senator Rick Scott of Florida took to Twitter to make reference to President Biden, whom he called “The Big Guy.” This name has come from a Hunter Biden text in which he had written that he would need to split some business profits with “the Big Guy.” Conservatives have alleged that Hunter Biden was referring to his father, however, there is no evidence to support this claim, which has been repeatedly denied by President Biden and his team.
