(FixThisNation.com) – On Tuesday, Judge Arthur Engoron who oversaw the New York civil fraud case against former President Donald Trump narrowed the subpoena an outside lawyer had been issued. Adam Leitman Bailey, a New York real estate lawyer revealed that he had provided unsolicited advice to the case while the case ruling was still pending.

Engoron noted that the former President’s subpoena of Bailey was attempting an “improper wholesale fishing expedition” to gain access to communications between the judge and the lawyer. However, as he pointed out Bailey and his firm had previously made frequent appearances in his court and unrelated conversations are likely going to be swept up in the original broader request. Still, Engoron admitted that the subpoena was not completely “without merit” and noted that the claims made by Bailey to the media had opened up the way for the Biden team to seek access to any documents and communications that are connected to their conversation.

On Feb. 16 Engoron provided his judgment in the $464 million, plus interest, civil lawsuit against Trump, where Trump had been found of misrepresenting his net worth to gain premium insurance benefits, business deal terms, and tax benefits.

Bailey had noted during an NBC New York interview that weeks earlier he had approached the judge and had provided unsolicited advice relating to this case. As he revealed he had seen the judge in the courthouse and had approached him about Trump’s case, arguing that he really wanted to ensure the judge would “get it right.”
