New Jersey Dunkin’ Heists

Enajaim E. Bowman, a Newark resident, launched a series of burglaries across four counties in New Jersey, targeting 14 Dunkin’ Donuts branches. His audacious spree resulted in the theft of over $18,000 in cash and gift cards. He left a trail of property damage amounting to $10,000 by prying open doors and smashing windows.

The burglaries spanned from December through January, affecting Bergen, Middlesex, Morris, and Union counties. Despite Bowman’s evasion skills, authorities eventually caught on, solving the case by piecing together clues from various security footage.

Remarkably, he succeeded in all attempts except the Dunkin’ in Emerson, where law enforcement thwarted his plans. Bowman executed break-ins by prying open locked doors and making speedy exits with cash and valuables from cash registers and managers’ offices.

Police Collaboration Yields Results

Investigations involved collaboration between the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Hackensack police, and Union Township police. The Bergen County Crime Reduction Task Force also played a significant role. “Bowman’s crime spree wasn’t subtle—each hit followed a pattern,” noted Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

The probe meticulously analyzed security camera footage, linking all break-ins and even an attempted one. The outcome was the identification and subsequent surrender of Bowman, who now faces a multitude of charges, including burglary and theft.

Awaiting Justice

Bowman is currently held at Bergen County Jail, awaiting his first court appearance. His organized crime wave targeted multiple locations from Chatham to Summit. Each incident typically occurred between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on a bi-weekly basis.

The law enforcement agencies worked tirelessly to ensure that justice would prevail in this case, highlighting the effectiveness of collaborative police efforts in tackling crime. As Bowman’s fate rests with the justice system, the community remains vigilant and optimistic for a safer future.
