(FixThisNation.com) – Former South Carolina Governor and GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley warned that the release of two hostages by Hamas should not sway opinion. She added that this action stems from the group trying to “earn favor with the United States.”
During an appearance on Fox News Haley stated regarding the release of the two hostages that while two of their prayers had been answered there were still another 200 more to be answered. He then cautioned the Biden administration to not trust the group and argued that the release was just a ploy in order for them to gain favor.
On Friday President Joe Biden announced that the Israeli government has identified the two hostages released to be two Americans. The mother and daughter duo, Judith and Natalie Raanan, who are 59 and 18 respectively, were released by Hamas after Israel and Qatar secured their release.
Haley argued that Hamas was worried about a possible ground attack from Israel against them which is why they released two hostages in order to see whether support for Israel would weaken. She added that the group was just trying to determine what they were able to gain from the release and that this was the time for the Biden administration to be “smart.”
She further cautioned that the United States needed to be careful with their next moves as there were another 200 hostages. She also stated that the events of Oct. 7 needed to not be forgotten.
Following the Oct. 7 attack, Israel retaliated by bombing Gaza which has resulted in more than 13,560 individuals suffering from injuries.
The United Nations head, Antonio Guterres has called for the conflict to end.
