(FixThisNation.com) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) criticized Fox News over their unequal coverage as the network has avoided talking about the recent incident relating to the behavior of GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert during a performance of ‘Beetlejuice.’
Ocasio-Cortez posted on Instagram her response to the scandal after one of her followers asked her what her thoughts were regarding the scandal at a Denver theater. Boebert had been removed from the performance of the musical for “causing a disturbance,” singing loudly, taking photos, and vaping during the performance. On Friday a new video from the performance emerged in which Boebert can be seen inappropriately touching her date while they were at the theater.
In the video, Ocasio-Cortez pointed out that even if she goes out to lunch in her free time Fox News will make sure to cover it, but now that a member of the Republican party has been caught engaging in sexually lewd acts while in public, Fox News does not appear to have anything to say. She added that while she does not expect that Fox News would treat them equally, it would still be nice if the treatment was more equal.
On the day before Ocasio-Cortez was sworn into office, a video of her dancing while in college had gotten attention. As she pointed out when that video came out, it was talked about a lot by Fox News, but there are no comments about Boebert “putting on a whole show” during the performance. This further showcases the inconsistency in treatment.
The Democratic challenger who is looking to win Boebert’s seat also called her out stating that the incident was “just another notch in the belt of embarrassment.”
