(FixThisNation.com) – On Sunday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., went against one of President Biden’s reelection campaign talking points by stating that the economy right now was in “crisis”. During a union rally in Wentzville, Missouri Ocasio-Cortez stated that any Wall Street or Washington insider analyst would say that one should look at the GDP, growth rate, and job numbers and question how the country could be considered to be in crisis.
The progressive lawmakers proceeded to accuse the Washington elite that they were making decisions without first aligning themselves with those who were experiencing the financial effects of these policies. She added that it was easy for someone whose only understanding of the economy was on paper to make this choice as they were the ones who needed to make a choice between either working or having childcare, and paying their rent or getting their medicine.
She added that for those people who have in the past needed to make these choices, they can feel the pain in their body after a long day, and of not having the time to spend with those they love.
While the lawmaker did not make any mentions of any of the two political parties, her comments still appeared to be going against the Biden administration’s messaging, as they have maintained that during Biden’s time in office, the economy has been doing well.
Biden’s allies have also been promoting the economic points of the administration and the term “Bidenomics” has now become a key term in Biden’s reelection campaign.
