(FixThisNation.com) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., a member of the left-wing “Squad” group, claimed that if biological men were blocked from accessing women’s sports, then “all” underage girls would be required to take a “genital examination” in order to participate in sports.
This claim was made by Ocasio-Cortez during the Tuesday House Oversight Subcommittee on Health, which was attended by Riley Gaines, a women’s sports advocate and NCAA swimming athlete. Ocasio-Cortez argued during the hearing that there were many proposals that were searching to “marginalize” transgender Americans. She added that because of these policies women would be required to have examinations of the genital areas in order to convince those who did not believe their stated gender.
She added that this is opening up underage girls and women to the possibility of needing to have “genital examinations” only because someone could decide that they were no longer girls. She then pointed out that this would be the case in a post-Dobbs America, where abortion access is criminalized and there are people looking for more information about when women are on their menstrual cycle and who is not getting one.
Ocasio-Cortez proceeded to argue that this would not make them any safer and that as per usual they did not believe that the panel of men present in the hearing had any consideration for the privacy or biology of women, regardless of whether or not they were trans or cis-gendered.
These comments came almost a year after the Ohio state Senate decided to remove a state House proposal that would have blocked biological men from participating in women’s sports, and which would have required “internal and external” exams for a student athlete’s gender to be confirmed.
