(FixThisNation.com) – On Monday, former Vice President Mike Pence warned that former President Donald Trump’s claims that he could end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours can only occur in one way, and that is if Russian President Vladimir Putin is given everything he wants.
Pence, who recently joined the 2024 Republican presidential primary, was asked on Fox News about how the war in Ukraine could come to an end. In response, Pence stated that in his opinion the war can only end if Ukraine is given everything they need in order to win the war. He added that while Trump is claiming that he could stop the war in a day, in reality, the only way of achieving that is by handing in everything he wants.
This is not the first time Pence has slammed Trump over his comments on Russia and the war. Previously he blasted Trump over his comments praising Putin and warned that if Putin successfully takes over Ukraine, then he might try to take over other neighboring countries, including Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia.
Pence added that if Russia were to attack any of those countries, then the U.S. would be obliged to enter the conflict using its armed forces because of the NATO treaty. This is why he believes it is in the nation’s best interest to support Ukraine with everything they need to stop the conflict. He further pointed out that success in Ukraine would also give China the message that the U.S. is not going to stand aside while China or Russia uses military aggression to change the international borders.
