(FixThisNation.com) – Republican presidential candidate and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy stated on Saturday during an appearance at the Iowa State Fair that the country’s climate change agenda was a “hoax.”
During his discussion with state Governor Kim Reynolds, Ramaswamy argued that the environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) business policies being followed were one of the biggest threats to liberty. He also argued that the “climate change agenda” was a “hoax.”
He proceeded to note that the money of the American people was being used for these policies “through the backdoor.” He added that people’s retirement funds and investments were being used for the Scope 3 emissions caps or for racial equity audits without informing them that this is where their money was going. As he claimed this is because all of these policies would never be approved by Congress.
Many conservatives have slammed ESG policies over the last few years as they view them as an attempt by corporations to affect the political climate. Some of the policies that most often come under fire include diversity hiring, carbon emission cuts, and investments that relate to the climate.
Ramaswamy argued that this is one of the biggest threats that liberty is facing currently. He also alleged that the ESG policies are similar to the “back-room deals” that were being made in Old World Europe. As he stated regardless of your stance on climate change it was important for these policies and topics to be openly discussed and debated as they should be in a constitutional Republic.
