(FixThisNation.com) – Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who had been one of the Republican presidential candidates in 2024 claimed that he would be interested in either serving in the second Trump administration in a Cabinet position or even filling the Senate seat currently held by Sen. JD Vance (R), who was Trump’s vice-presidential pick.

Ramaswamy argued that if he was asked to serve it would be something that he would really consider as the Senate seat would be vacated if Trump wins back the White House and Vance becomes his vice president. He added however that he would also want to have an important conversation with Trump in order to see in what other ways he could impact the country. He noted that his “top passion” was on “the regulatory state.”

These latest comments were made during a recent appearance on NBC News with Hallie Jackson at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

The choice of the temporary replacement for Vance is going to fall with Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a moderate Republican. Ramaswamy has not yet had a discussion with him regarding being a possible replacement.

If Vance leaves the Senate, where he was first elected in 2022, then a special election will be held in 2026 to fill the last two years of his term.

Ramaswamy noted that while he had not yet discussed it with the governor, he was looking forward to evaluating what the future had in store. He added that if he was offered the position, he would strongly consider it.
