(FixThisNation.com) – The Department of Labor has revealed new statistics noting the list of most stressful jobs in the United States in 2023.
The Occupational Information Network, or O*NET, created a ranked list of the 873 jobs that have the highest “stress tolerance.” As they noted these are often jobs that require people to accept criticism, and continue to work calmly and effectively even in high-stress situations.
USA Today was the first to report the list, which included both careers with high salaries, as well as certain careers with low median wages. The number 1 most stressful career was found to be urology, while judges were ranked at number 4. Retail supervision, which has a low median wage, was found to be 9th on the list.
There were certain positions on the list that required people to have a number of degrees or have gone through postgraduate school. Eightfold AI chief economist Sania Khan pointed out that high levels of stress jobs included both low- and middle-skilled occupations.
According to the list with a stress level of 100, and a median annual salary of $208,000, Urologists were the first on the list. The second career on the list was found to be video and film editing, with a stress level of 99 and a median annual salary of $62,280. In third place was Anesthesiologist assistants, fourth Judges and magistrates and fifth phone operators.
Many medical professions including acute care nurses, Obstetricians and gynecologists, and nurse anesthetists were also included on the list.
