(FixThisNation.com) – Following the first GOP primary debate on Wednesday, former President Donald Trump praised and defended businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
On Thursday morning Trump took to his Truth Social platform to post a clip from the first primary debate in which Ramaswamy claimed that Trump was the best U.S. President in the 21st century so far. Trump remarked that this comment alone gave Ramaswamy a “big win” during the debate because he was stating the “TRUTH.”
Ramaswamy faced a lot of attacks during the presidential debate with many other candidates including former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Vice President Mike Pence all taking jabs against him.
What’s more, Ramaswamy was the only 2024 presidential candidate to defend the former President while Christie had spent much of the debate attacking Trump, stating that it was time for people to stop “normalizing this conduct.” He added that regardless of whether or not you believe that the charges against Trump are right or wrong, his conduct was still “beneath the office of the president.” This was in response to a question about whether he would support Trump despite his legal challenges.
Ramaswamy chose to respond to Christie’s comments by arguing that it was important to speak the truth and the truth was that in his opinion Trump was the best U.S. President in the 21st century.
Trump chose not to attend the presidential debate hosted by Fox News and instead released a pre-recorded interview with Tucker Carlson, a former Fox News host.
