(FixThisNation.com) – “Squad” House Democrats who are known for their previous criticisms of Israel have been slammed online following their statements after Hamas’ terrorist assaults on the Middle Eastern country. Many of the members of the “Squad” released statements on Saturday condemning the attacks that had occurred earlier that day.
On “Squad” member, Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., has opted to not make a statement following the deadly terrorist attack. However, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who is considered the most important member of the “Squad” called for hostilities to de-escalate and for a “ceasefire.”
In her statement, she pointed out that the attack was “devastating” for those in Palestine and Israel who have been trying to secure a long-lasting peace. She also condemned the attack arguing that violence was not something that any family should need to endure. She then argued that this violence was not going to help bring a solution to the “ongoing oppression and occupation in the region” which was why a ceasefire was required to save lives.
South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace, was quick to slam Ocasio-Cortez for this statement pushing for a ceasefire and referred to her colleague as a “Hamas apologist.”
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who is known for having made several controversial statements against Israel referred to the attack as “horrific” and argued that this “senseless violence” that keeps repeating in a cycle should not be allowed to continue. She then stated that a ceasefire and de-escalation were necessary.
However, Rachel Campos-Duffy, the co-host of “FOX & Friends Weekend” criticized Omar arguing that she would never acknowledge that during the Trump administration, there was peace in both Europe and the Middle East.
