(FixThisNation.com) – California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in an interview with Politico on Tuesday doubled down on potential legal charges that Florida officials could face in connection to the two recent flights that transported migrants to the state capital of Sacramento.
As he pointed out during the interview many of the immigrants appear to have been misled or been transported to Sacramento under false pretenses. He proceeded to completely reject the Florida state government’s claims that all the migrants have traveled to the state voluntarily. As he pointed out they currently have paperwork that all of the migrants have given them, which makes the situation fairly “self-evident.”
California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) had previously stated that Florida appeared to be at the center of the flight carrying South American migrants that had arrived in the state last week. The flight had reached Sacramento without any communication with the government about the arrival of the asylum seekers. Bonta further disclosed that following the arrival of the flights they were investigating whether it would be proper for them to file criminal charges against those responsible for the transportation of the migrants, as it could be considered “state-sanctioned kidnapping.”
A second plane carrying migrants to the state arrived on Monday. On Tuesday, the Florida Division of Emergency Management officially stated that they were responsible for the transportation of the migrants. Alecia Collins, a spokesperson, had told the Hill that the transportation of migrants was not something new and that even left-leaning mayors in certain cities, including El Paso, Texas, and Denver, Colorado, had transported migrants to other cities, but now that Florida was doing it, it was apparently considered “false imprisonment and kidnapping.”
