( – On Sunday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) commented on special counsel John Durham’s final report on the origins of the FBI investigation into the allegations of former President Donald Trump having ties with Russia before he was elected in office during his 2016 presidential campaign. Graham stated in particular that the report was “damning” while speaking with radio talk show host John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM’s “Cats Roundtable.”

During the interview, Graham pointed out that the report shows that the FBI had turned into a political weapon used by those who just wanted to get Trump regardless of how they did it. He added that they completely went against the rule of law in favor of just getting the political outcome that they wanted.

The report was released on Monday following a four-year investigation, in which it was determined that at the time of the FBI launching the probe into Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, there was not enough evidence to back the decision to have an investigation.

Graham was then asked why it had taken Durham four years to compile the report, to which he responded that he did not know why it had taken so long. Graham proceeded to tell Catsimatidis that anti-Trump operatives were the ones to create the narrative about Trump being a Russian agent and that his campaign was being influenced by the Russians.

He added that this is a dangerous time and that he was thankful for Durham’s report.
