(FixThisNation.com) – Former President Donald Trump has become the latest GOP figure to have blasted the Biden administration for allowing the release of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds in exchange for the release of five American detainees. The agreement was originally announced in August and it included a blanket sanctions waiver that would allow international banks to transfer the funds from previous Iranian oil sales from several countries including Qatar and South Korea. In exchange, the five U.S. citizens who were being held prisoners in Iran would be released.

Last week, Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State signed off on the waivers, despite the fact that Congress only found out about the deal on Monday. The information about the five Iranian prisoners being released was also just released.

Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to push for Republicans to remove President Biden from office following the $6 billion agreement. Trump started his post off by reiterating his unfounded allegations that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen, and claiming that because of this the country had become “a shadow of its former self.” He proceeded to list a number of the key issues that the U.S. is currently facing including the economy, inflation, the “Woke Military,” the war in Ukraine, and the lack of Respect on the World Stage. He added that the latest problem is the $6 billion deal reached for the hostages.

He then asked why the GOP was not calling for the 25th Amendment to be used, which is the amendment” that is used in cases where the President resigns, dies, or is removed.
