(FixThisNation.com) – Former President Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social on Monday evening to announce that he would be turning himself in for booking at a Fulton County jail on Thursday following his recent indictment for charges that are connected to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
In his post, Trump stated that he would be arrested in Georgia by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis who has been leading the investigation into Trump’s attempts. He added that Willis is “overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS” in the nation’s history but that in his case she was not indicting him for murder but rather because of a perfectly reasonable phone call he had made. He once again alleged that the only reason she was continuing this campaign against him was because she was fundraising from persecuting him. Finally, he concluded that the charges against him were just an attempt at election interference
CNN was the first to report that Trump would be turning himself in on Thursday.
A Fulton County court has charged Trump and his 18 defendants under several charges including charges under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) law. Willis gave all the defendants until Friday to turn themselves in.
As part of the accusations against Trump, claims of him organizing a “criminal enterprise” so as to remain in power after the 2020 presidential election Trump’s bond has been set at $200,000. Trump is also obliged to follow tougher rules than all other defendants and is blocked from making any comments against his co-defendants or the case’s witnesses.
