(FixThisNation.com) – Former President Donald Trump is not feeling any pressure to join the first GOP debate and he can also not be forced to do it. His advisers, the Republican National Committee, and even Fox News are not in a position to make Trump join the debate in Milwaukee in August.

The current polling numbers are also not making it appear as if any of the other candidates is remotely close enough to Trump to make polling a necessity. As the frontrunner in the presidential race, he in fact has more to lose than gain from joining the race.

A person who has been pushing for Trump to join the debate revealed that he would not join the debate unless there is a significant change in the polling numbers forcing him to. The person added that while they disagreed with this decision it was the one that Trump had made.

In interviews, more than half a dozen of Trump’s advisers have all pointed to Trump leaning towards not attending the first debate. Trump is also looking at possible counter programming he could participate in during the first debate.

The RNC, Fox News, and GOP primary voters will be forced to see a Republican primary debate without the leading figure in the match if Trump chooses to not attend. If he organizes a different event during the debate, then this would also be a way that Trump will be able to keep the attention off of the other GOP candidates and on himself.
