(FixThisNation.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton stated on Monday during an interview on Nation that Trump could “spend a little of his own money” for his legal defense.
As Bolton pointed out during the interview there were people who were worried about the possibility that Trump would not have enough money to cover both his campaign expenses and legal bills, however as the former President often claims he is a billionaire therefore he could spend some of his own money to cover his bills. He added that it “befuddles” him that there were people willing to give money to a billionaire so that he would pay his legal bills.
Last week Trump’s campaign confirmed that following his booking at the Fulton County Jail last Thursday, Trump had raised $7.1 million. During his booking he became the first U.S. president, either current or former, to have had his mugshot taken. The day after his booking alone Trump raised $4.18 million, making this his highest-grossing day for his entire campaign thus far. The fundraising haul was reported by Politico.
Furthermore, in the last three weeks, the campaign has managed to fundraise close to $20 million following the two different indictments filed against Trump. Bolton claimed that it was “disturbing” to see that a party he had previously thought of was based on principle to be willing to support one individual regardless of their actions.
According to campaign filings Trump has spent millions of dollars on his legal defense thus far this year.
