(FixThisNation.com) – On Friday night former President Donald Trump appeared at a Christian conservative convention in celebration of Roe v. Wade at the “Pray Vote Stand Summit” in Washington, D.C.
During the convention Trump once again touted his efforts regarding the right to life, noting that he was the President that had fought hardest for Christians. He added that if he wins another four years in the White House he will continue to fight for Christians. He further noted that it is important for them to start winning elections again with the pro-life platform.
In his remarks Trump noted that the overturning of Roe v. Wade allowed conservatives to win a “seat at the table” and it gave them “tremendous power.” However, as he pointed out if it is not done properly then the pro-life platform could end up having a political cost.
Regarding his abortion stance, he pointed out that much like former President Ronald Reagan he supported three exceptions for incest, rape, and risks to the mother’s life. Still, as he pointed out abortions are a decision that each person needs to make for themselves and everyone should do what feels correct to them. However, as he noted from a political point of view this was “tough” and it is hard during elections as was obvious during the 2022 midterm elections.
He then proceeded to argue that the majority of politicians were not aware of how they should approach this complex issue or how to talk about it, but if they don’t learn how to properly talk about it they won’t be able to win elections. Instead, they need to run strong and know how to speak about abortions.
