(FixThisNation.com) – Mary Trump, the niece of former President Donald Trump has spoken about the “double standard” in the treatment of his uncle in his legal woes.
Donald Trump served as the President from 2017 to 2021. Following his exit from the White House he has faced a number of legal cases that have been brought forth against him. Last week, he pleaded not guilty to 37 counts in connection to the Department of Justice investigation into his alleged mishandling of classified documents which were found in his Mar-a-Lago, Florida estate. He has also been indicted in a hush money payment case in Manhattan for falsifying business records. Trump pleaded guilty in this case as well.
There are also many legal investigations looking into Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Following all of the indictments against him, many of his allies have claimed that there is a “double standard” in the legal system, as Trump has been charged in connection to the classified documents, while President Biden has not despite classified documents having been found in his home and former office.
Mary Trump, who is a vocal critic of her uncle, acknowledged that there is indeed a double standard in the justice system, but that this double standard benefits the former President. As she noted in a tweet on Friday evening argued that the double standard is “always broken in Donald’s favor.” She proceeded to state that his allies and supporters are currently reacting to the fact that for the second time in his life, Donald Trump is being treated based on the crimes that he committed. She added that it has taken a long time for us to reach this place.
