(FixThisNation.com) – The previous U.S. President, Donald Trump, criticized Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida over his campaign visit to New Hampshire, labeling DeSantis’s efforts as chaotic and unorganized.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “DeSantis is facing serious criticism following his underwhelming appearance in New Hampshire. The lack of crowd participation, excitement, and interest is clear. His campaign seems to be falling apart. His actions are significantly damaging his prospects for 2028. Loyalty, it seems, is indeed important to Patriots!”
Much like other Republican presidential hopefuls, DeSantis utilized the Fourth of July to promote his campaign in early primary states, including New Hampshire.
Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota, former Representative Will Hurd of Texas, and Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina joined DeSantis in a holiday parade in Merrimack, New Hampshire. Democratic contender Marianne Williamson was also present.
Earlier in the day, DeSantis participated in another parade in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Footage reveals DeSantis engaging with parade attendees, even as he and his spouse Casey DeSantis encountered a rainstorm during one of the day’s parades.
DeSantis told WMUR News, “We’re grateful for both parades and we plan on doing a lot more in this area. It was simply wonderful being here and celebrating Independence Day with so many patriotic Americans.”
Currently, DeSantis ranks second in most national polls, behind Trump, who holds a substantial lead.
In Iowa, celebrations for the Fourth of July were attended by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, ex-Vice President Mike Pence, talk radio host Larry Elder, former Governor Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, and Burgum, with activities varying from 5K runs to parades. Instead of participating in person, Trump chose to commemorate the holiday with a message on Truth Social.
His post read, “A HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY to everyone. We’re putting in the effort to reclaim our Nation, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. The 2024 Election is our LAST GREAT OPPORTUNITY!”
