(FixThisNation.com) – A 52-year-old man in the House has been charged with aggravated kidnapping after he allegedly had a woman locked in his home for years.

Harris County court documents noted that Lee Carter had kept a woman captive in his garage for close to five years. During that time he had repeatedly drugged her to keep her from escaping. The man has now been charged with aggravated kidnapping. In the documents it is noted that almost five years earlier he had approached the woman, who had been pregnant and panhandling at the time, and had offered to help her by giving her a dollar. However, after the woman accepted his help he took her to his home on the 5200 block of Perry Street in Houston.

The FOX 26 report noted that according to the charging documents the victim had been begging to be allowed to leave, however, Carter had used crack cocaine to keep her drugged and unable to escape.

The victim had allegedly been able to contact the police using Carter’s computer in April 2023. On April 7, the Houston police officers responded to the scene stating that they had made contact with a woman who claimed to have been kidnapped, held captive, drugged, and sexually assaulted over the last five years.

The woman also revealed that she had been able to escape once before when she had gotten the opportunity to break a window in the garage and climb outside. However, the woman had been hospitalized and then Carter had ended up bringing her back to his home and boarding up the windows in question, blocking her from escaping again.
