(FixThisNation.com) – On Wednesday night, many GOP Senators confronted Kimberly Cheatle, the director of the Secret Service, during the Republican National Convention as they are trying to determine why the agency has failed to secure the location where former President Donald Trump’s rally took place on Saturday. Questions about the agency have emerged following the assassination attempt on Trump.
While at the Fiserv Forum Sens. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., James Lankford, R-Okla., and Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., all questioned the Secret Service director about the shooting on Saturday. The video of the Senators surrounding her was posted by Blackburn on X, and it clearly shows the four asking her questions. However, after only a brief conversation the director had ended up walking away.
Blackburn and Barrasso continued to yell after her stating that she had failed to provide a sufficient explanation for what had occurred on Saturday both during the briefings and at the arena.
In a separate video on X, Barrasso noted that they had approached the director looking to receive specific answers regarding what had happened at the shooting and how the shooter had been able to be in a location from where he had a clear shot of the president. They further pointed out that an hour before the shooting had taken place, the shooter had been determined to be a suspicious person.
Blackburn in his own post noted that the director had not been willing to answer their questions. Blackburn pointed out that she had tried to tell them that this was not an appropriate location for this conversation.
