(FixThisNation.com) – On Friday, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) argued that if Americans were looking to fix the issues with the Supreme Court, then the only way to achieve that is by voting for President Joe Biden in November.
The House Judiciary Committee member spoke during a discussion with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi about the ongoing legal battles of former President Donald Trump, including the most recent immunity ruling from the Supreme Court. California Democrats have so far expressed hope that the most recent ruling would not affect the classified documents case of the former President. They have also warned against a possible second Trump administration.
Swalwell in his comments referred to a conservative policy agenda that the Heritage Foundation had released earlier this month, calling for people to imagine what a possible second Trump administration would look like based on Trump’s Project 2025. He argued that this was something they had seen during his first term when Trump had appointed three judges who were instrumental in taking away a right that women have had for the last five decades. This was a reference to the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 which had established abortion right protection.
Swalwell argued based on the case being overturned that this women’s right had “vanished” and proceeded to question what others would end up gone.
His comments came after the latest ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this month which determined immunity from criminal prosecution for the core presidential powers.
