(FixThisNation.com) – On Thursday, President Biden’s legal team slammed special counsel Robert Hur over his report arguing that he had exercised “investigative excess” which led to him “trashing” the matter of the probe.

Biden’s personal counsel Bob Bauer argued in a statement after the release of the report that the public findings were in violation of the norms of the department and that it essentially trashed the investigation subject. He added that while the Department of Justice Inspector General had found that high-profile investigations, including those relating to Presidents, could be subject to higher levels of scrutiny this did not mean that there should be violations of the well-established Department norms.

In the statement, Bauer noted that the report had “extraneous, unfounded and irrelevant critical commentary,” which trashed the matter of the probe. He added that Hur did not refrain from “investigative excess” most likely in part because of the current political pressure. However, he pointed out that the impact of those pressures on the report flouts the regulations of the department.

The White House has also slammed the report noting that several of the statements were “inappropriate.”

White House special counsel Richard Sauber specifically pointed out that while they disagree with many of the comments included in the report, the most important decision made by the Special Counsel is that there should not be any charges.

Still, neither of these statements noted which specific parts of the report were found to be inappropriate. In the report Biden is described as an “elderly man with a poor memory” and it is alleged that he forgot which years he served as the vice president and when his son died.
