(FixThisNation.com) – On Sunday, Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) praised President Joe Biden for his State of the Union address while at the same time attacking former President Donald Trump for having spent most of his presidential election campaign focused on himself and his legal troubles.
In an interview on NBC “Meet the Press” with Kristen Welker, Warnock argued that Joe Biden was “tried” and “tested” and that he was familiar with all this “nonsense.” He added that he had seen it and even dealt with heckling in the middle of his speech. Still Biden had pressed on without turning all of the focus on himself.
He continued by arguing that this was not what Trump would have done as Trump is running from “the jailhouse” and is not focused on the importance of the election for the American people, and the people of Georgia.
On Thursday during the State of the Union address Biden had blasted Trump as only being concerned with himself, while at the same time focusing on the Biden administration’s achievements and goals. The Democrats had praised Biden for the speech.
Biden, who is likely to be facing Trump in the 2024 presidential election, has been attacking the former President more in recent weeks and has repeatedly pointed out how high the stakes are in the upcoming November election.
Biden in the speech argued that freedom and democracy had not been under such a threat since the time of President Lincoln and the Civil War. He added that this is a rare moment for democracy.
