(FixThisNation.com) – House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., is looking to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress after the FBI sent a letter to the panel informing them that they would not be complying with the subpoena requesting access to a document detailing a possible criminal scheme involving Joe Biden during his time serving as Vice-President.

On Tuesday evening the FBI reasserted that they continued to be committed to working with Congress and that they would provide access to the information requested in a “format and setting” which would protect the nation’s security interests and the confidentiality related to this document.

The document in question is an FBI-generated FD-1023 form that allegedly details a criminal scheme that involves the exchange of money from a foreign national in order to influence policy decisions. The subpoena was first sent earlier this month, but the FBI did not comply with it. Instead, they provided an explanation about the agency’s confidential human source program.

Last week, Comer gave Wray till May 30, to hand over the document. Wray arranged for a call with Comer only one day after the deadline. The FBI notified the committee that they would not be giving them access to the document requested by the Tuesday afternoon deadline.

Following that, Comer said that the FBI had informed them about their decision to not provide the document. He added that this decision was obstructing them from gaining access to this information and was hiding the information from the American people.
