(FixThisNation.com) – Harry Dunn, a former U.S. Capitol Police officer, has warned that there was nothing blocking a possible second Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection. He argued that currently there was no accountability “at the highest level.”
On Saturday during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Weekend,” Dunn who has previously testified before the House Select Jan. 6 Committee argued that there were two purposes for accountability. The first one is to provide restitution and the second one was to act as a deterrent blocking something from occurring again. As he argued since there was no accountability following the attack there was nothing that would stop a similar attack from taking place.
Dunn further claimed that the biggest issue currently at hand was democracy and argued that if former President Donald Trump manages to return to the White House in the 2024 presidential election it would nullify all of the Democrat’s policy goals.
Dunn, who is currently a Maryland 3rd Congressional District candidate, argued that the bigger issue in the upcoming election was democracy and that there was a lot at stake. He added that they have talked about health, gun safety, women’s reproductive prices, and affordability, but that none of these things will matter if there is a dictator in the White House.
Dunn also recounted his experience during the Capitol attack when he had seen police officers getting attacked during his testimony. He is now running in the Democratic primary in the hopes of winning the seat that is going to be left empty after Rep. John Sarbanes (D-Md.) retires.
