(FixThisNation.com) – In a recent town hall hosted by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ended up being booed.

Greene has been a close ally of former President Donald Trump and has become increasingly more critical of the Republican leadership in Congress. Greene who is a staunch conservative has slammed other GOP members for choosing to collaborate with the Democrats in creating a recent bipartisan bill that helped fund the government.

She had also pushed for Republican leaders to take a more aggressive stance when it came to conservative priorities, including President Joe Biden’s impeachment and border security.

McConnell (Kentucky), has previously faced criticisms by other conservatives who are more aligned with the former President over his approach to certain issues including the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. He has also previously referred to the attack as a “violent insurrection.”

On April 8, during the Rome, Georgia town hall, Greene had slammed House Speaker Mike Johnson for his work with Senate Leaders. This was a reference not only to McConnell but also to Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

She then proceeded to ask the audience whether they liked McConnell. In response, the crowd had booed. Greene had proceeded to say that McConnell was not the leader in Washington that the GOP should be listening to.

In February McConnell had announced that he would be stepping down from his position at the end of the year. This will allow the Republican party to elect someone who is a closer ally of former President Donald Trump.
