(FixThisNation.com) – On Friday, a group representing families affected by the 9/11 attacks expressed strong criticism towards TikTok for allowing the circulation of a letter by Osama bin Laden. Terry Strada, the National Chair of 9/11 Families United, emphasized the importance of recognizing bin Laden as a terrorist responsible for orchestrating the 9/11 attacks, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 Americans. Strada highlighted the profound impact of the tragedy on American families, expressing dismay at the apparent sympathy some younger Americans have shown towards bin Laden’s extremist and antisemitic views, even two decades after the attacks.

9/11 Families United, a coalition comprising families and survivors of the 9/11 attacks, has voiced its concern over the online resurgence of bin Laden’s “Letter to America.” This letter, written in 2002, sought to justify the targeting and killing of American civilians. It has gained attention online, with some videos on TikTok showing support for bin Laden’s perspective and encouraging others to read the letter, particularly in the context of U.S. support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas.

TikTok, responding to the situation, stated that the promotion of content related to this letter violates its policy against supporting terrorism. The platform is actively working to remove such content and is investigating its proliferation. TikTok clarified that the number of videos endorsing bin Laden’s views is relatively small, although some have attracted significant attention.

Osama bin Laden, the leader behind these extremist views and the architect of the 9/11 attacks, was killed in 2011 by U.S. Special Forces. His death marked a significant moment in the global fight against terrorism.
