(FixThisNation.com) – On Tuesday, President Joe Biden put out a statement slamming the Florida Supreme Court for ruling that the 15-week abortion ban should be upheld. The decision also triggers another restrictive policy.

Biden in his statement argued that this was an “extreme decision” which would mean that millions of women in the State would be unable to receive medical care when needed. He added that not only did the Court vote to uphold the current ban which stops women from having control over their reproductive choices, but it would also trigger into going into effect a more extreme law by DeSantis which would prevent women from having access to reductive health care before they even became aware that they are pregnant. He pointed out that this was “outrageous.”

Biden warned that the restrictions passed in several states including Florida were stepping away the freedoms of women and their access to health care and medical decisions. He further pointed out that this was also a threat to physicians who could face time in prison for providing the medical care that they have been trained to give.

Biden continued by arguing that his administration would continue to be committed to ensuring that reproductive freedom is protected across the country and that they would keep pushing for Congress to pass a law that would restore the protections of Roe v. Wade in every state.

Monday’s decision by the Florida court was the latest one in the fight relating to abortion which has escalated since the Supreme Court ruled in June 2022 that Roe v. Wade should be overturned.
