(FixThisNation.com) – On Sunday, President Biden had his first official visit to the southern border. During the visit, he walked along the border wall that separates El Paso, Texas from Juárez, Mexico. As part of his visit, he was taken to the busiest ports of entry where he got to witness firsthand how border officials conduct searches of vehicles in order to locate any drugs, money, or contraband that is being brought into the country.
During his quick visit to El Paso, Biden was also taken to an immigration center to look at the situation more closely. Despite the numerous stopping points during his visit many have argued that Biden only viewed a “sanitized” version of the border crisis.
Biden was not alone during his visit as he was accompanied by Border Patrol officers, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Democratic Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar.
Biden said that visit had made it even more clear that resources were necessary in order for the situation at the border to be handled. Still, despite being there many pointed out that Biden failed to see the immigrants at the border.
When reporters asked him whether or not he had read the letter given to him by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on the tarmac, Biden had said that he had not yet had the chance to read it. In the letter, Abbott essentially described the failures of the administration and said that Biden’s visit came “two years too late.”
